Michelle's 12th birthday is a truly magical day. She discovers that she is endowed with magical powers along with her own personnel animal familiar, a Siamese cat named Leonardo, with whom she can communicate. Using her new found abilities, she investigates the mystery surrounding a missing tiger cub that was been stolen from the Dallas zoo. While doing so, she learns about environmental problems, the fashion industry, makes some new friends and encounters some "not so friendly" entities. Her competitive nature causes Michelle to be recruited onto the area bicycle racing team. The team's travel provides her cover for moving around the country and investigating further mysteries.
