You probably think a resort on the beach in Florida would be a great place to relax and have some fun. Ordinarily, you'd be right. UNLESS: You're the General Manager, the Spring Break Bacchanalia is sinking to new levels of depravity, your Executive Chef is making a fool of herself with an improbably good looking but curiously out of place guest, and one sunny afternoon, you discover that somebody has--improbably, and curiously--left Mr. Gorgeous under a cabana with his throat cut. Maureen Delaney is the hard-headed and tough-talking General Manager of the SeaHorse Grand Resort in Moonlight Beach, Florida--and a refugee from a sad little law practice in the Midwest. Mo thinks of herself as a first rate problem-solver, but not much of a lawyer. When the Executive Chef, Lisa Galetti, and incidentally one of Mo's best friends, is charged with the murder, Mo once again finds herself arguing before the bench. She makes a complete hash of it: Lisa is denied bail, and Mo and her other best friends, Kerry Keegan, the owner of the SeaHorse, and Jackie Fishman, a young reporter for The St. Petersburg Times, must scramble to find out who else wanted the guy dead, and thereby liberate Lisa from orange jump suit hell. Their investigation ultimately leads them to a crooked HMO, corruption in high places, and surprising revelations about people they thought they knew.
