Cat saves the lives of his friends, a mother, a son and a daughter, from being eaten up by a monster. For Cat's good act, the family takes cat home. Cat no more lives in the bush. Other stories in the book explain why monkey lives on tree tops, how cock came to live around people, why eagle flies so high in the sky, why snake chases frog, how lion came to be king of animals and why fish lives in water. Any adult using these stories to teach children moral values should discretionally emphasize only virtues that are appropriate to the age and understanding level of young learners.
