"… comprehensive, concise, and very valuable information and references on modeling phosphorus from the landscape to the stream channel and, in some cases, in the stream channel itself. …This collection… provides a valuable resource for researchers, resource managers, policy makers, and others, as they work with phosphorus in the environment. …The value of this book is the vast amount of information provided over a wide range of topics related to modeling phosphorus in the environment, all under one cover. The editors have done a good job integrating all the topics and cross-referencing information among chapters. … a great source of information and should be in the library of every academic institution and the office of every student, researcher, resource manager, or governmental regulatory official who studies or works with phosphorus in the environment."

". . . an excellent compendium of the largely U.S. agricultural phosphorus community and the detailed knowledge that this group inherits . . . well-presented, with attention paid to cross referencing between chapters, and there is also a comprehensive index to help guide the reader though 400+ pages of text . . . This is undoubtedly the advantage of this compendium, and it ought to be a must buy for all libraries of the world and should reside on book shelves of all phosphorus researchers and catchment/watershed managers."

Descriere
Phosphorus modeling is a hot topic as phosphorus is one of the most relevant environmental pollutants. Modeling Phosphorus in the Environment combines traditional models with new approaches derived from modern technology and assesses the current state of modeling P. It allows researchers, engineering consultants, soil and groundwater scientists, regulators, and others to access and consider all the models available for predicting the fate of phosphorus in the environment, so as to be readily able to select the model that best fits their own situation. This book is the first single-source reference, written by acknowledged experts in the field.
