INTRODUCTION Few researchers have made more headway in the field of ethnobotanical medicine than Dr. James A Duke. His seminal work 'The Green Pharmacy' transcended folk medicine beyond the domain of speculation by using modern, scientific spectroscopy to analyze biochemical compositions in natural medicine; while at the same time juxtaposing plant expedients with contemporary medical research, setting high standards for the future of holistic pharmacopoeia. Alternative medicine has seen many surprising advancements since the release of Dr. Duke's monumental book, which was released in 1998. Astoundingly, Cancer and AIDS have both been proven to be treatable maladies, thanks to the global bioinformatic age we are currently living in; henceforth, leading technological research companies and firms invest large amounts of money to develop products surrounding these trade-secret breakthroughs. The purpose of this book was to equalize the playing field and make it possible for average people, with access to herbs and plants, to be able to treat serious illnesses without extreme monetary repercussion. Such research is a timely process, but thanks to Dr. Duke's priceless 'Phytochemical and Ethnobotanical Database' funded by the United States Department of Agriculture, I was able to extract the information needed for the conceptualization and gradual compilation of this extensive omnibus. 'Modern Breakthroughs in Homeopathic Medicine' not only contains an alphabetic break down of every major disease and medical condition, but it also provides definitions and explanations of specialized nomenclature in encyclopedic like fashion for the purpose of convenience and clarity. Along with a complete list of 'medical activities' provided (in every section) for each corresponding disease, an extensive list of remedial 'phytochemicals' is outlined; as well as an extensive section listing the particular plants, fruits and herbs which contain these chemicals in different quantities.
