What merit these poems may have, must come from the message. These are short pieces that set out to capture "moments' - a moment of truth, of recognition, of ah-ha, of being at one with our environment or culture, or universe. These pieces may sing the praises of poetry, but really they are just look-alikes because they are short, brief moments that jar or poke or bemuse or reach out for answers in a perplexing world - our world.
