Mona Lisa Pamphlets

Autor Peter Fritz Walter
en Limba Engleză Paperback
'Mona Lisa Pamphlets: Paraculture, Alcibiades, Princess Love' are written in a literary genre that is very old, in fact, an almost forgotten genre that had its hay-day in the Middle Ages. Pamphlets were not read, but publicly declaimed to more or less large audiences, and partly even sung. And their content was mostly humoristic and critical of social institutions. 'Paraculture, ' the first of the three pamphlets is dedicated to genius and geniuses, and is partly autobiographic. 'Alcibiades, ' the second pamphlet, is autobiographic as well, treating the subject of homosexual and pederastic desire in a way close to the old ideal of Greek Love, but with more humor than is to be found in this genre of literature, and a good portion of biting social critique. 'Princess Love' is a pamphlet that treats a controversial subject in our society, the male attraction for little girls, in all its poetic depth, but without a serious connotation to sexual love between men and girls. It is the timeless literary and poetic dimension that is explored here, also in the embedded criticism of Vladimir Nabokov's famous novel 'Lolita.' While today this love variation is invariably found off-track and offensive, in olden times, if we can take history research serious, the love and marriage with underage girls was a common practice both in Asia, the Middle East and Europe back in Antiquity.
