The story you are about to read is a true one. As you walk with me over some sixty-seven years of my life, my prayer is that you see the hand of God reaching down into the life of a single, solitary man to rescue him from the miry pit. In my attempt to succeed in life, I built a life on money, fame, and worldly possessions with no desire to have faith in God. As my world crumbled under the storms of this self-made life, it was God that reached down with His mercy, grace, forgiveness, and love to take the ashes of my life and make something beautiful for His glory. My prayer is that as you read this book as you examine my mistakes and failures, you will learn and understand the goodness of the Lord and the painful price of sin.
