In the year 3030 the world is just beginning to recover from an Asteroid strike a thousand years ago. Tia dreams of learning magic with the help of the fabled "Worm Crystal," so-called because it came to earth with the asteroid called 'The Worm'. However, she isn't sure the Crystal exists at all until a stranger comes looking for a healer to help the children of his land who are dying of a mysterious disease. He has a Crystal. Tia is a healer, but to help him she must travel thousands of miles, leaving everything and everyone she knows, with only her giant draft horse, 'Dollar', and the promise of a stranger.
