Eleven year old James lives next door to Mrs Crabolli, also known as Old Crabby, a mysterious woman whom he believes may be up to no good. He thinks neighbourhood pets are being lured into her house never to be seen again. Ever. They go into her casserole pot. James has a three year old sister and fears that she may be the next thing to disappear without trace. He enlists the help of his friend Charlie, who is always up for a challenge, and the two of them resolve to expose the evil deeds of Mrs Crabolli. But can he be certain his mother will listen to him?
