Margueritte Shelton has worked in finance with a Fortune 500 company based in Washington, D.C. for the past 20 years. She is an avid volunteer invested in humanitarian work. Shelton was named an honorary member of the National Museum of the American Indian for her volunteer work, participated in the international hunger relief organization ¿Rise Against Hunger,¿ participated in The Longest Walk in Washington, DC, and more. She is a member of the Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville, Kentucky. She studied creative writing and poetry at NYU.
