A former US Army Special Forces officer is the sole survivor of his A-Team, killed in combat in Vietnam. Suffering from survivor's guilt and profound grief, he tries to drown his sorrows in alcohol. Quite by fate, he meets a beautiful flight attendant for Evergreen airline, a CIA operation, who is on vacation in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada. The frontier town lies twelve hundred miles north of the Montana border. It is home to Eskimos, Aleuts, Dogrib Indians, hunters, trappers, oil men, miners, prospectors, bush pilots, Canadian army soldiers, RCMP, nomads, derelicts, and drug smugglers. When mutual friends of theirs are brutally murdered by local drug dealers, they team up to exact a bloody revenge. The bodies quickly stack up. They are then compelled to make a desperate run for freedom across more than one thousand miles of frozen wilderness to the American border with professional assassins and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in hot pursuit.
