When you have a career in Law Enforcement, there are a few things that you expect to happen. You expect the excitement, sweat and tears, Adrenalin rush, danger, politics, and much more. What you don't expect is your own department to sabotage, to destroy your career, and your family's future. We as law enforcement officials have the opportunity to testify in court and with our testimony can put someone in jail or prison for a long period of time. The duty and responsibility of truthful testimony is immense in our business because we hold someone's life and freedom in our hands. With all of the negativity police officers receive from the public, for example, Rodney King, Treyvon Martin, the riots in Ferguson, Missouri, and also the assassinations of our beloved Police Officers around the country, trust from the public and transparency on what actually happens in each and every case is vital. When the trust is destroyed, it is hard to build it back up.
