Maye West, Broker/Owner of Maye West Realty in Glendale, AZ finally sells the deal of a lifetime; four large properties surrounding beautiful Lake Haverly near Punkin Center. The new owners; a New York Attorney Miranda Feldman and her writer husband Joshua, are thrilled to finally own their private Shangri-la It looks like everything is coming up roses; a body is discovered in their beautiful lake, by the writer husband, when his fishing lure hooked what he thought was a log, but was a badly decomposed body. The Coroner using DNA obtained from military service records identified the body is James Crandall, Punkin Center's resident hot head. A tasteful memorial is planned, and attended by many neighbors until James Crandall came to the party screaming Demanding, "Who the hell are you people and what the hell are you doing on my property?"Maye's sexy boyfriend Sheriff's Deputy Frank Singleton calmed James down until James came to the conclusion that the body in the lake must be a relative He connects the dots and realizes that it must be one of his sons. Frank tries to help his friend Coroner George Green accept the flack the both of them are going to take by misidentification. They head over to the Recovery Room, situated conveniently across the road from the Coroner's office; one pitcher of beer turns into several, Maye and Fast Eddie arrive to rescue them. Frank can't decide if the bad guys are smart or just damn lucky because they seem to be one step ahead of his officers. Every time he gets close to discovering who they are and what their next move will be, they turn the tables and beat him at his own game. The author, that's me, was a Realtor in the State of Washington and Arizona, so if some of you recognize people that sound and look a little like yourself, you're right, it probably is you, but with a different name. Most of the characters are made up out of whole cloth, although I met so many unusual people, and some wonderfully strange Real Estate transactions, that I might fill 10 books. I got in the Real Estate business when there were very few women, and the guys in my first office were so helpful to me. They were so cute, they brought a whole salmon for me to cook for their lunch Their directions were so precise that after getting lost once, I asked directions, and was sure to thank them and proclaiming, "Thanks for the great directions, I drove right to the house." BTW if you follow my directions to Lake Haverly, you will end up at Roosevelt Lake. I was a realtor for 30 years, so if you knew me, you would recognize some of Maye's traits. Except for the sexy boyfriend, my husband would only let have him, and coincidently he reminds me of Frank.
