Notă biografică
Trina Francis, known in the poetic world as Genesis, is a single mother of two, born in New Iberia, Louisiana;
raised on the south side of Houston, Texas. She has one granddaughter who is the glimmer in her eyes.
She loves to dance, sing, and serve the community. She has been writing for as long as she can remember but did not start sharing her poems through spoken word until she was around forty years of age. She has
"spit" her poems in churches, at open mic poetry nights, and events all around Houston. She belongs to
Windsor Village United Methodist Church, under the teaching of Pastors Kirbyjon and Suzette Caldwell. She has been a member of Windsor for almost 30 years. She is currently a member of the Anointed Women's
Chorus and a Matron for New Radical Generation (NRG) Drill Team. She was previously a part of the praise dance ministry and the Kingdom Players.
She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority, Inc., In God's Hands Ministry, the Social Club "Chic",
and The Order of the Eastern Star.
She has a Bachelor's Degree in Education and a Master's in Strategic Leadership, both from LeTourneau
University and is currently a doctoral student pursuing a Ph. D in Organizational Leadership at Adler
University. She proudly started her higher education journey on the campus of Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, Texas.
Mustard Seeds is her first published work, but she is working on a novel and a series of children's books
based on her poems.
