My Holocaust Miracles

As a kid growing up in a primitive Romanian village, Sholom Hersh often dreamed of living in America. What he never imagined was the nightmare he would have to endure first.

Born in 1928, Hersh knew the hardship of poverty and living without running water, toilets, and electricity. But in 1944, at the age of fifteen, he was introduced to the darkest side of adversity when Nazis wrenched him and his family from their home at gunpoint and condemned them to the horrors of Auschwitz.

More than a WWII memoir, "My Holocaust Miracles" recounts not only Hersh's concentration camp experiences, but also tells of his life before and after-including the harsh postwar reality of survivor's guilt. In an effort to face his past and honor those he lost, Hersh shares his life story, which serves as a raw and stirring reminder of how far humanity can sink and yet how much deeper true goodness can reach.
