PROLOGUE It was never my intention to visit Delphi, let alone stay there for any length of time. I had been hired to teach at a prep school in Florence, Italy which turned out to be a fraudulent enterprise and very bizarre to boot. Thankfully the school came to an abrupt end three months after I arrived. After helping to close it, I decided to go to Troy since I was more than half way there already. It had always been my boyhood dream to see the walls of Troy. Never did I think of going to Delphi. Yet once I set foot in the place, I knew this was where I had been guided to all the while, despite all the strange and difficult obstacles along the way.
