Notă biografică

Foreword by Olly Goldenberg:Gee's life has been a rollercoaster of a ride. In telling her story, she takes us from the dream of her family to the stark reality; from the depths of despair to hope. By sharing her personal account, she permits us to walk in her shoes for a moment and to see things from her perspective. Ultimately, her story is one of inspiration. Over time, she has discovered that there may not always be light at the end of the tunnel, especially if you don't know if the tunnel will even have an ending! However, there will always be light in the tunnel. The challenge is to take the time to pause and find the light, and then focus on that light as you keep on walking. Instead of looking ahead to block out the present, we can find grace in the moment and delight in the small things, even during times of great tragedy. Entwined throughout the telling of her personal story, Gee gives clarity on the kind of support friends and family can give. Listening to some of the words spoken to her by well-meaning friends whilst she was in the depth of despair is almost farcical. Seeing the simple acts of kindness and concern from others that made the journey bearable provided a road map for the kind of support we ought to give people in our community, whatever burden they are carrying. If you are on the journey of handling children with additional needs or you know someone who is, this book will give invaluable insights, but above all, hope. Not the glossy hope that ignores reality, but the gritty hope that overcomes and reveals something beautiful in the midst of pain and tragedy. I am so thankful to know Gee, Chris and their four beautiful girls and to have seen them find hope in the most challenging of circumstances. Their journey has made their family stronger and this is a credit to each one of them who have all had to dig deep to find strength and learn to hold on to God throughout the journey. It has also strengthened me as I have watched them cling to the Lord over the years. It is for this reason that I am constantly inspired by them and honoured to count this family among our closest friends.
