When Barbara graduated from high school, she wanted to get away from home so she joined the US Air Force but was returned home in less than a year due to an unplanned pregnancy. She was very much a product of the 50s that preached that a woman must have a husband and children so she married several men who abused her either mentally or physically. She tried suicide, aborted another unplanned pregnancy by herself, worked two jobs at once to pay her debt and take care of two children while her husband was in prison. She married her first husband again after he got out of prison and had two more children but after 18 years left him to start on her own. Then her life became wonderful when she met, Ron. Together they lived an exciting life of travel until finally settling down in Arizona. Their adventures include climbing mountains, biking into canyons, and bicycling across England, Wales and Ireland. It was the greatest adventure and they are still having fun. The paperback version includes many photographs which further enhances Barbara's life story.
