Debra attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, where her dream of writing mystery adventures for children was born. She went on to complete her Bachelor's Degree in Business, specializing in Marketing and Advertising. Much of Debra's life has been devoted to teaching-as a homeschool mom, a conversational Spanish teacher, and a Precept Bible Study leader. She currently resides in Chandler, Indiana where she works in finance and enjoys painting, studying foreign languages, and rooting for the Indianapolis Colts.
