In the first episode of Mything Children Adventures: Without A Trace, pre-teens Paul, Rivers and Chris go camping out with Paul's dad just off the Natchez Trace in the deep woods of Mississippi. There they discover the Old Sunken Trace, a remnant of the 19th Century roadway leading through Choctaw and Chickasaw country, that drew land pirates and other renegades to waylay innocent travelers on the frontier. But they don't encounter pirates; they encounter impossible creatures and characters straight out of Native American mythology, including a spider god, moon goddess, mischievous dwarf, dark elf, two giant serpents and a massive horned owl, some bent on destruction of our heroes and the entire human race, others offering aid to the three young travelers.
