Eeva Kaisa Hyry-Beihammer, PhD, is a professor of school pedagogics at the University College of Teacher Education Upper Austria, Austria. She worked as a postdoc researcher at the University of Oulu, Finland (2008–2010), as a visiting scholar and senior postdoc researcher at the University of Salzburg, Austria (2010–2014) and as a senior scientist at the University of Klagenfurt, Austria (2014–2015). Her research projects focus on (pre-service) teachers' professional development.
Outi Ylitapio-Mäntylä, PhD, is an adjunct professor and university lecturer at the University of Oulu, Finland. She worked as a post-doctoral researcher (2010–2012) and university lecturer (2012–2017) at the University of Lapland. Since 2017 she has worked as a university lecturer at the University of Oulu and since 2019, she has worked as one of the research unit leaders at the Faculty of Education and Psychology. She has been a leader in several teaching and developmental projects funded by the Ministry of Culture and Education in Finland.
Minna Uitto, PhD, is a professor of subject teacher education at the University of Oulu, Finland. She leads two research projects about changing relations in teachers’ work funded by the Research Council of Finland (RELA, 2020–2024) and Eudaimonia Institute (University of Oulu) (NAVI, 2022–2025).

This edited volume focuses on narratives and diverse narrative approaches in the field of education. It discusses the concept of narrative and its boundaries as well as illustrates in detail the many ways of producing and analyzing diverse narrative research materials. Its chapters provide rich examples of oral, written, and visual narratives produced in peer interviews and group discussions as well as via creative writing and photographs. Various narrative ways of analyses are applied.
