Stefan
Hübner
is
a
Research
Associate
at
Bundeswehr
University
Munich
(Universität
der
Bundeswehr
München).
Before,
he
worked
as
Research
Associate
at
Jacobs
University
Bremen
(2009-2013).
His
current
research
focuses
on
the
transfer
of
Western
amateur
sports
to
Asia
and
on
the
impact
of
this
transfer
on
nation
building,
regional
integration,
modernization
processes,
and
infrastructure
development.Torsten
Weber
is
a
Senior
Research
Fellow
at
the
German
Institute
for
Japanese
Studies
(DIJ)
in
Tokyo.
He
studied
Modern
History
and
Media
Studies
as
well
as
Chinese
and
Japanese
in
Mainz,
Shanghai,
Hiroshima,
Yokohama,
and
London
(School
of
Oriental
and
African
Studies)
and
received
his
Ph.D.
from
Heidelberg
University
where
he
completed
a
dissertation
on
transnational
Asia
discourse
in
the
interwar
period.
His
research
in
the
fields
of
modern
and
contemporary
East
Asian
history
focuses
on
Asianism,
history
politics,
historical
reconciliation,
and
regional
integration
in
East
Asia.
His
current
project
studies
socio-political
discourse
on
happiness
in
Imperial
Japan.
