This work deals with (UV-visible and fluorescence) Spectrophotometric methods for the determination of ranitidine hydrochloride (RAN-HCl): UV-visible Spectrophotometric methods include Reaction of (RAN-HCl) with metal ions Cu(II) and Ni(II) in acetonitrile solvent to formed colored complexes, these complexes reacted with 2,2 bi pyridine (bipy) to formed another stable colored complexes. The wavelength of maximum absorption for the colored complexes formed was found to be (412, 427,439 and 604) nm for RAN-Cu(II)], RAN-Ni(II)], RAN-Cu(II)-bipy] and RAN-Ni(II)-bipy] complexes respectively. The Spectrofluorimetric method depending on quenching of response florescent intensity for (bipy) in aqueous solution."
