New York City Facts & Fun includes a Lapbook, Time-Line Game, and a Brief History of the City When we started our first study of New York City many years ago, we questioned why anyone outside of the region would have an interest in the city. But the more we studied it, the more we saw that the history of New York City is very much a picture of the history of the United States - and in many cases of the world. This city represents a unique part of American history while at the same time representing much of what the rest of the country has gone through in one way or another. You will quickly see that I like timelines I use them regularly in almost all of my history studies - whether I am the teacher or the student. The lapbook includes a "brief" timeline of the highlights of the history of the city, the time-line game includes a moderate sized one, and the book at the end is an expanded, illustrated timeline. So, whether you are from that region or not, may this different look at New York City history give you a greater understanding and appreciation for this all-American city A book this size can only scratch the surface of such an extensive topic.
