Hank Newman doesn't want anything special in life. Having survived two wars and many smaller conflicts around the globe as a United States Marine, he is content with being an unemployed drunk struggling with his violent past. Hank's is a simple life; drink each night to lessen the burden of his memories and run each morning to minimize the effects of his daily hangovers. The only problem is that he's short on cash and would do just about anything for money. Approached by a mysterious man and offered a sizable amount of money to deliver a memory stick to Bangkok, Hank happily accepts the seemingly simple task. What he doesn't realize is that he has been selected for the job because of his destructive lifestyle. What his new employer doesn't realize is that Hank is unlike any of his past deliverymen... Hank Newman has an uncanny knack for survival.



Traveling to Bangkok, Hank begins to question his employer's true intentions when he immediately finds himself in danger as several powerful organizations vie for the memory stick that happens to looped around his neck. As people involved with the delivery begin to be murdered, Hank starts to wonder who his real allies are and who are not? Struggling to stay alive in the midst of all the turmoil surrounding the memory stick, Hank finally sorts out what he is actually carrying and realizes that the simple task of making the delivery is anything but simple. The only thing he seems to be able to control during the delivery is his relentless schedule of drinking and running.



Using his knowledge of the culture and country, Hank travels across the breadth of Thailand in an effort to both deliver the memory stick to get paid and elude those forces that would rather see him dead. Finding that his very survival depend on relying on the same behavior that created the experiences that haunt him nightly, Hank is forced to come to terms with his violent past.



Even after the memory stick is finally handed over Hank finds himself a target for simply taking part in the delivery. It's not until he makes sense of his life and then travels back to where it all started to eliminate one last obstacle that he can rest at ease... or can he?
