Chapter: THE BEST!
On June 30, 2013, Neymar showed the soccer world that a new genius had emerged. He led the Brazilian team in a game against Spain in the finals of the FIFA Confederations Cup. The game was held at the famous Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, the stage of two World Cup finals (1950 and 2014). The mighty Spanish team had already won three major tournaments in a row: the UEFA European Championship in 2008 and 2012, and the 2010 World Cup. They arrived with their most powerful team. The starting lineup included six of Neymar's future teammates at Barcelona: Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Piqué, Jordi Alba, and Pedro. However, Spain was unable to achieve victory. Brazil defeated the world and European championships 3–0. Neymar scored a beautiful goal in the 44th minute. Oscar provided the assist with a sweet pas through the Spanish defense. The determined striker Fred scored the other two goals, with Neymar playing a part in both.
Neymar was chosen the man of the match in the final. He then received the Bronze Boot as the tournament's third top goalscorer. Neymar and his companions picked up the winning trophy. To cap it off, Neymar was Awarded the Golden Ball as BEST PLAYER OF THE TOURNAMENT!
