Sarah Bull is Assistant Professor of English at Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada. Her work on the nineteenth-century pornography trade and its relationship with science and medicine has been published in a variety of venues, including the Bulletin of the History of Medicine, Book History, History of the Human Sciences, Victorian Review, and Porn Studies.
Descriere
This volume details scientific pornography during the long nineteenth century. Though there is little overlap between pornography and sexual science currently, in the past pornographers played up scientific credentials to reassure readers.
