NIST Handbook 150-17 augments NIST Handbook 150, NVLAP Procedures and General Requirements, by gathering the technical requirements of the Laboratory Accreditation Program (LAP) for conformance testing of Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS)-approved and NIST-recommended security functions (e.g., cryptographic algorithms, security components, and protocols), and of cryptographic and security modules. Technical requirements are explained to indicate how the NVLAP criteria are applied to accreditation for conformance testing under the Cryptographic and Security Testing (CST) LAP.
