Nobody knows the trouble I see

Compozitor K. Lee Scott
en Limba Engleză Sheet music – 4 apr 2002
for SATB and pianoOften set as a lament, Nobody Knows here takes on a quality of genuine resignation and loving perseverance. The melody is supported at first by a quiet boogie-woogie vamp leading to a warm 'Glory, hallelujah' at the end of each stanza. The choral writing is essentially chordal, and straightforward, creating a powerful effect through simple means.

Recenzii

It is difficult to imagine that it is possible to add anything of worth to the many superb arrangements of spirituals that already exist. OUP has excelled itself however and has added three further numbers to the spirituals collection, each of which has something worthwhile to offer . . . This is a much simpler arrangement than the previous two examples and appears technically straightforward; it would certainly be manageable by a choral group of average ability. Essentially chordal throughout, there are some interesting touches in the work: the boogie-woogie style accompaniment to the opening verse is imaginative and the growing richness of the writing helps to take the work forward'.
