The purpose of the North American Bird Conservation Initiative is to ensure the long-term health of North America's native bird populations by increasing the effectiveness of existing and new bird conservation initiatives, enhancing coordination among the initiatives, and forestalling great cooperation among the continent's three national governments and their people.
