G. Timothy Cranston, a freelance history writer, is a
12th-generation resident of Rhode Island, and his family
has been firmly rooted in the region since 1635. His weekly NorthEast Independent column, "The View from Swamptown," details North Kingstown's history in a compelling and entertaining manner.
