Welcome back to the world of Niecey Lawson, reigning spelling-bee queen, gymnast extraordinaire, wearer of spectacular hair bows...and the better half of D&D Investigations. Smart and tenacious, Niecey is like most of her fellow nine-year-old classmates at El Paso's prestigious Santa Maria Academy-she just happens to solve mysteries with her father, Dennis.

Dognappers are on the prowl in El Paso, Texas, and the local police department doesn't seem very concerned. When the criminals go after the dog of Niecey's friend Valerie, the girl detective decides it's time for her to take action.

But it's not just Valerie's pet the thieves are interested in, they've also nabbed a Wounded Warrior's service dog. Through a chain of amazing events, Niecey uncovers a huge dognapping operation taking place on Fort Bliss, the local military base. Can Niecey and her friends handle the bad guys on their own-or will she find herself in over her head this time?
