Cuprins

Volume III/20 of the New Series deals with the experimental results of nuclear quadrupole resonance spectroscopy, applied to solid substances. Such data were published in Landolt-Börnstein in volume I/4 of the 6th edition (1951), i.e. only a short time after the establishment of this special method of investigation. At that time the respective table offered NQRS-data for only a small number of substances. In the meantime, nuclear quadrupole resonance spectroscopy has become a standard method of structural research. The results are important for molecular and solid state physics as well as for different branches of chemistry. The number of investigated substances is increasing rapidly. Data for free molecules have already been published in volumes II/14a,b of the New Series. Volume III/20 covers the data compiled from the original literature from 1951 through 1982 for substances in the solid state. Its main contents are values of nuclear quadrupole resonance frequency, quadrupole coupling constant, asymmetry parameter, experimental method, temperature and special remarks, also figures showing the dependance of frequencies on external parameters. Because of the large amount of data, volume III/20 had to be divided into three subvolumes, III/20a,b,c. Subvolume III/20a is presented herewith; III/20b and III/20c will follow soon.
