The nursing profession contributes much to health of the society; however, it is still not recognized and respected like other professions. Nurses play an important role in effective management of health care. Nurses as working women have a variety of roles to perform due to which they do face certain problems. Being subjected to the dual demands of home and work they are liable to face a crisis of adjustment, especially with children, household chores and other family responsibilities. With different problems, they need to adopt various coping strategies. It is essential to understand the problems experienced and coping strategies adopted by the nurses at present so that they can be guided to meet the stressful situations.
