Nursing Sisters of Brooklyn tells some heartfelt and unusual tales of experiences that nurses encounter. Margaret grew up poor in the projects of Brooklyn, New York, by the Brooklyn Navy Yard. She was the fifth child in the family, and at about two and a half weeks, her dad died from cancer. This left her mom, at age of thirty-five, alone to raise her children. Margaret was inspired by her elder sister to become a nurse like her. Margaret graduated with her associate degree in nursing in 1972. Then in later years reentered school for her bachelors degree. For the past forty-two years in nursing, she has worked as a staff nurse in hospital settings, worked as a legal nurse consultant, then taught in a nurses aide and LPN program. For the last twelve or more years, Margaret has worked in long-term care (nursing homes) as a director of nursing. Margaret is licensed as a registered nurse in New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, and she currently resides and licensed in Illinois.
