Occultism is the practice of occult disciplines, including extra-sensory perception, spiritualism, religion, astrology, magic, alchemy, and divination. Occultism and its concepts are part of the belief structures of philosophies and religions. The diverse forms of occultism have a strong desire to reconcile the conclusions of modern natural science with a religious believes that could restore man to a central position and dignity in the universe. -- Journalist, historian, and soldier, was born in Montreal. Educated at Kingston, Ontario. Part of the staff of the Boston Globe and was its correspondent in Cuba. Later became the reporter in Georgia for the New York Herald. After founding a newspaper in Atlanta, Georgia, and engaging in journalism in New York, he went to England and joined the London Daily Mail. Later on, he became a free-lance writer and a prolific author. Many of his books explored Canadian history and issues. He also served as a senior officer with the Canadian Expeditionary Force.
