Off the Grid

College student Brian Miller is an intern for powerful oil tycoon Mike Connor, an arrogant CEO who hates to be thwarted. When Brian gets a panicked call from his father with the heartbreaking news that his mother has died, he hops on a plane for home. Upon arrival, Brian discovers that his father has died of an apparent suicide.

Looking through his father's papers, Brian learns that his parents-who owned a fabricating company-turned down an opportunity to build an oil pipeline for Connor's company, opting instead to work with the green energy sector building windmills. Brian also discovers a lockbox with a fake ID and passport bearing his own name, numbers to a foreign bank account, and a warning that his life is in danger.

Armed with evidence that his boss murdered his parents and is now gunning for him, Brian goes underground, teaming up with Chan, a Chinese martial arts instructor who inducts him into an ancient secret society. Spirited away by Chan to an island off the coast of New Zealand, Brian undergoes months of rigorous training and medical procedures. But will it be enough to prepare his mind and body to avenge his parents' deaths?
