Notă biografică
Alexandra Sanchez was born and raised in New Mexico and currently resides in Albuquerque with her daughters, Okelani and Kamea. She is a fashion designer and entrepreneur, but most importantly a mother/caregiver.
As a Special needs mom to Okelani, she saw firsthand the lack of books representing special needs kids. That inspired her to write this book, specifically for kids that are wheelchair bound. She wants to give them a fairy tale that includes their wheelchairs and takes them places they never thought possible, if only in their imagination.
She also hopes this book will be an icebreaker for other kids to be more interactive with kids in wheelchairs and that have other special needs.
Alexandra is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI)
