The year is 1555. Rob Milburn is just seven. One night, they are raided by Scottish Reivers. His father killed, Rob is abducted, and taken him back to their home ground and hand him over to the monks of the abbey. But as he becomes absorbed at the abbey, he retains a fierce loyalty to his family, and swears that one day he will live up to it.
