Recenzii
The book does a good job of covering all aspects of osteoporosis from epidemiology and pathophysiology to imaging modalities used to help diagnose it, different treatment options available, and drug-induced and metabolic disorders that can lead to it, etc. The book emphasizes the importance of identifying those at greatest risk of developing osteoporosis. For example, the authors do a good job of addressing osteoporosis in premenopausal women, men, and children/adolescents. We may sometimes forget that the latter two groups also can develop osteoporosis. The basic bone pathophysiology chapter is well written and helped me understand how the different cells work together with or against each other to help create and reabsorb bone... This is a good reference to have on hand to refresh your knowledge of osteoporosis. The small size means I can easily carry it in my pocket and access it whenever I have time.
