İsmail Hakkı Kadı, is an Associate Professor at Istanbul Medeniyet University. He has published on Ottoman-Southeast Asian relations and Ottoman-Dutch relations including Ottoman and Dutch Merchants in the Eighteenth Century: Competition and Cooperation in Ankara, Izmir, and Amsterdam (Brill, 2012).
A.C.S. Peacock is Professor of Middle Eastern and Islamic History at the University of St Andrews. He has published widely on the history of the Islamic world including the edited volume From Anatolia to Aceh: Ottomans, Turks and Southeast Asia, coedited with Annabel Teh Gallop (Oxford University Press, 2015).
