This is the true story of a family's four month search for a missing pilot. That pilot was my husband. He was flying a small, experimental plane from Mojave, California to Warrenton, Virginia. He never made it. The Civil Air Patrol didn't find him and my family was left to wonder what had happened. Despite dealing with a mountain of bureaucratic red tape, the family and I refused to give up our search. This book starts with my first call to report an "Overdue Aircraft" and takes the reader on an emotional journey that shows what persistence can accomplish. I'm hopeful that this book will bring about changes in the way you report overdue airplanes. I'm also hopeful that better standards and training become mandatory for the Civil Air Patrol. Both would spare other families some of the heartache we had to endure.
