Our understanding of how pain in early life differs to that in maturity is continuing to increase and develop, using a combination of approaches from basic science, clinical science, and implementation science. The new edition of the Oxford Textbook of Pediatric Pain brings together an

Recenzii
It is probably the most comprehensive resource on the market for anyone interested in and managing children and adolescents with acute, procedural, and chronic pain.
Review from previous edition I am sure this book will find a place on the bookshelves of many physicians interested in pain management. I highly recommend this book for the libraries of institutions which have a dedicated paediatric department and pain management services in their hospital.
Paediatric Pain services are underdeveloped in the UK. Trainees in pain management are only now routinely exposed to the unique challenge of managing pain in children. This book should be essential for all thinking of practising in the field - it informs us what we know, and, most crucially, why it matters. I endorse it wholeheartedly.
