This fully illustrated book is intended primarily as a guide to paddleboats found in various parts of Australia (more than 130 in all) for those people who may see or travel on them and thus gain a better knowledge of these fascinating boats. It includes paddleboats that are presently operating for public excursions and cruises on rivers, lakes, and harbors around Australia, as well as privately owned boats and vintage boats that have been restored for public display. The majority of paddleboats are on the Murray River in southern Australia. Over recent years, more than 30 new boats have been built and launched into the river, while a further 20 boats have undergone changes in either name or appearance. In addition, there are paddleboats to be found in various other locations around the country, including Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Canberra, Ballarat, and Longreach.
