Papa Says was created as the author, Papa, traveled by train from Washington, DC, back home to Greensboro, North Carolina. During his journey, he wondered how a grandfather might answer his grandchild's questions about a world yet to be explored.

Delightfully illustrated by Papa's children and grandchildren, Papa Says explores those questions with whimsical and sometimes silly rhymes.
