Parents, Poverty and the State: 20 Years of Evolving Family Policy
Autor Naomi Eisenstadt, Carey Oppenheimen Limba Engleză Paperback – 17 sep 2019
Parents, Poverty and the State considers the different stances that successive governments have taken towards parents during the past two decades, exploring the emergence of parenting as an acceptable issue for government, as well as the tensions in government policy between supporting families through fiscal policy and supporting parenting through social policy. Eisenstadt and Oppenheim also discuss the impact of emerging neurological research on policy and practice, and the areas for improvement as governments continually struggle to address the needs of parents once their children become teenagers and young adults.

Recenzii
“Provides a user-friendly review of how policy towards families with young children has developed over the last twenty years, explaining what we now understand, as well as what has been misunderstood.”
“Offers a deeply shaming view of the impact of austerity on child outcomes but also shows a path forward from where we are today. Policymakers must not turn their back on children in the UK; this book is a must-read for those who won’t.”
