Liliana Ionescu-Ruxandoiu is Professor at the University of Bucharest (Department of Linguistics, Faculty of Letters); Fulbright Professor (1990-1991), University of Washington (Seattle, USA); Visiting Professor, University of Vienna (1996-1999). Teaching and research interests: pragmatics, discourse analysis, rhetoric, argumentation. Main publications: Naratiune si dialog in proza romaneasca. Elemente de pragmatica a textului literar [Narrative and Dialogue in the Romanian Fiction. Elements of a Pragmatics of Literary Texts], Bucuresti, Editura Academiei, 1991; Conversatia: structuri si strategii.
