Patriotic Passion comes from the heart of a Gold Star Father that lives with internal torment every day with questions and answers, hopes and dreams, sorrow and nightmares and the continual love of his children and country. This collection of verses and short poetic stories are what I see and feel around me at dark and painful times that can only be experienced through similar losses of loved ones too early or tragically. I have spent the past three and half years in constant agony and anxiety over the loss in Afghanistan of CPL Steven R. Koch and then losing his sister, my daughter Lynne Koch to PTSD because of the loss of her brother. I also write avidly about our great nation, flaws and all, that we can rekindle that patriotic spirit that the founders of the United States had developed and implemented as a beacon of liberty and justice. I have found solace in meeting with many people in our country that honor our troops and military, our wounded and fallen soldiers, have freedom and justice as their living spirit that there is hope for that flame to burn brighter in the future as we remember all those Soldiers of Sacrifice.
