Beauregard and Ramon travel first to 4th Century Camelot, then on to 13th Century Germany. There they follow the adventures of young Hans, son of Nicholas DeBovier, a former leader of the Children's Crusade, and his wife Janell. Later, they follow Hans to England, where he deals with Henry III. Finally, Hans fights for King Henry in France, for honor, and the right to marry Lady Alice.
